    Description

    very nice unrestored 100% original Washington license plate. 1920 issue; number 144595.  14 by 6 inches; black legend on yellow and white two-tone background.
    the plate lies almost completely straight and flat, with original porcelain as seen in the photos.  plate condition is best described as "legible", or perhaps "unorthodox use of negative space".  fresh out of the barn!  Washington only issued 1920 plates to new registrants, starting with porcelain plates and going to embossed later in the year.  (extant 1919 plates got a renewal tab.)
    porcelain plates are fragile, because the coating is literally glass fused to the steel.  to protect it from damage, the plate will be packed carefully for transport.
